The Dufour 36 'Classic' is a popular modern cruising design offering a great combination of comfortable, spacious accommodation and a powerful sail plan that is manageable and confidence inspiring. 

 

Reportedly, this example has the lead keel (1.8m draft) option and the 3 double berth cabins layout, with additional [occasional] berths in the roomy saloon (she has the ‘convertible’ saloon table and dedicated cushion option). The 'master' cabin forward offers indulgent seating and space as well as the double berth itself and the galley takes the 'linear' form on the starboard side of the main saloon and thereby offers generous storage and the larger 'fridge. 

 

‘Mistra’ has been privately owned and sailed by the sole ownership from new; never operated for charter!

Forward Cabin: An offset double berth to port with large stowage lockers under. Large stowage locker forward with access above foot of berth. Seating area to starboard. Generous hanging and shelved lockers to starboard. Forward opening deck hatch & second smaller ventilation hatch over berth. 

Saloon: Generous & comfortable, with L-shaped seating to port around a pedestal table, with a relatively generous two-person island seat that also offers internal stowage and a substantial backrest offering a useful handhold. Excellent ventilation and natural light from three portlights and an overhead hatch above. 

Galley: A linear galley along the starboard side of the main saloon offers a relatively large amount of worktop space. An Eno 2-burner gas cooker with oven is fitted and gimballing. Double stainless steel sinks, with a pressurised water supply, supplementary manual pumped outlet for fresh or sea water with changeover valve. A deep top-opening refrigerator with 12v Isotherm cooling plate. Ample stowage lockers and opening hatch above for ventilation. 

Chart Table: Of good size and forward facing, the chart table is sited to port with a dedicated seat and chart storage. Adjacent to the main electrical panel. 

Heads: The heads compartment is situated aft. to starboard nicely independent of, and equally accessible from all three sleeping cabins. It is fitted with a Jabsco marine-flushing toilet; basin – with pumped H&C freshwater, and a shower with electric pump for the grey water drain. Opening portlight. Under-sink locker contains a centralised location for skin fittings and a freshwater distribution manifold. Fitted with a useful flow meter to display volume of water used. 

Two aft cabins (mirrored in form): each with a double berth, double-doored hanging locker, two opening portlights to the respective side deck & to the cockpit well giving good cross flow ventilation. 

• Teak & Holly cabin flooring throughout. 

• Kenwood radio/CD player with saloon speakers. 

• Warm air cabin heating ducting is still fitted, but the heater unit itself has been removed and is not working.
