Rossiter Pintail 27 - 1979 - Now asking £8,500 O.N.O.

The Rossiter Pintail is a sea-kindly cruising yacht with traditional lines. Her long keel combined with twin bilge keels provide a moderate draft, making her ideal to cruise shoal waters of the UK and allows easy drying out.
The Pintail design makes no apology for being somewhat old-fashioned. The designed form was proven by more than 35 years with a design concept reaching back through her predecessors: the Heron and the Shelduck. The modifications that were incorporated into the Pintail's design are relatively minor: the mast step was raised to give better headroom in the heads compartment, and in this example a fixed chart table has been added. The sheer amount of solid wood seen in Pintails makes the design a rarity amongst others, and it is undoubtedly one of the main elements contributing to her unique character. The woodwork was originally executed with considerable craftsmanship and attention to detail and helps to make her a 'proper' yacht.
If you’re not already aware of them, you will come to appreciate the virtues of a heavy displacement boat. The Pintail's powerful, seakindly hull with a long keel gives her great stability and a predictable, dependable performance. Her shoal draft and bilge keels make shallow and drying creeks and harbours accessible. The accommodation accent is on providing comfort rather than squeezing in as many berths as possible. There is good standing headroom in the main cabin with two settee berths each side and a further two in the forward cabin.
The galley is to port, just inside the companionway and has a two-burner gas hob and a sink. The oilskin locker is opposite with the chart table above it. The heads compartment is forward through a door that shuts off the heads compartment & forward cabin from the saloon. It is fitted with a sea toilet and sliding washbasin. Opposite the heads compartment is a large hanging locker. Throughout the boat, there are as many lockers as possible providing a great deal of stowage space.
This example completed a single-handed round-Britain trip with a previous owner in 2021/2 and represents opportunity to acquire a characterful cruising yacht with the benefit of a GRP hull and decks for generally low maintenance, albeit with a need to address the decay found in a plywood bulkhead in a timely manner.
